Create tender, flaky salmon fillets with a smoky, buttery glaze inspired by Texas Roadhouse. This easy baked salmon recipe delivers restaurant-quality flavor quickly, perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for simple cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve a better texture.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, honey, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, dried thyme, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Whisk until the glaze is smooth.
  4. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops and sides of the salmon generously with half of the prepared glaze mixture.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon is almost cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Brush the remaining glaze over the salmon fillets.
  7. Return the salmon to the oven and bake for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, or until the glaze is slightly caramelized and the salmon reaches your desired doneness.
  8. Serve immediately. This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a complete, healthy fish dinner.

Notes

  • For extra crispy edges, you can briefly place the salmon under the broiler for the last minute, watching closely to prevent burning the honey glaze.
  • If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, increase the minced garlic to 1 teaspoon.
  • This recipe works well for air fryer salmon; cook at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, brushing with the remaining glaze halfway through.
